Taylor's Under-21s have now taken 6 points from their first two European Championship qualifiers, and he was naturally over the moon, as he exclusively told TheFA.com for England TV.

"I’m delighted," he said, "we were a little bit sloppy in the first half but overall the team’s character was tremendous second half.

"Poland looked a very strong, dangerous team - some of their one touch play was very difficult to defend.

"But we hung in there and got a great goal just before half-time, and the second half performance was disciplined and had a lot of quality.

"I think the players realise this is the type of thing they’ve got to put up with, and get over, if they want to go and play for the senior team because it’s a difficult atmosphere, a difficult place to play.

"You’ve got to handle all that and we handled it ever so well after going a goal down.

"I’ve thoroughly enjoyed the two games here – two difficult places to get a result and going back on the plane with 6 points is terrific for us."
