Manchester City's Bradley Wright-Phillips has received his first ever call-up to an England squad after having been named in the England Under-20 squad to face Russia at Charlton on 08 February.
Wright-Phillips, club team-mate Chinedum Onuoha and Middlesbrough's Daniel Graham have not received a call-up to an England squad before and all will be hoping to make an impression on the England youth set-up.
"Bradley and Daniel Graham are two front players who have done very well recently and I felt it was time for them." Peacock told TheFA.com.
"Bradley's been playing at a high level and Daniel made his debut recently so it will be good to see two new front players.
"Chinedum Onuoha is another new cap and he's a year young, so that's pleasing. This match is a great chance to have a look at how the new caps will do on the international scene," Peacock said.
A feature of recent England youth team squads has been the number of players from Middlesbrough, something Peacock has noticed.
"I know Dave Parnaby [Middlesbrough's Academy Director] from my days at Derby and they just do things well up there. They have a good work ethic and scout very well."
Charlton Athletic's Stacy Long (pictured above), who has already played once at Under-20 level, will be hoping that he gets the chance to impress in front of his home crowd against a talented Russian squad.
In something of a rarity at youth level, the England squad includes a foreign-based player - Cherno Samba - who is involved in the first-team squad at Cadiz CF, who lie in second place in Spain's Second Division.
Lee Croft, another product of the flourishing Manchester City academy, is the most experienced member of the squad with five Under-20 caps and in all the 19-year-old has a remarkable 44 caps at all youth levels.
