England Under-18 Head Coach Brian Eastick has named his squad for the forthcoming friendly with Ghana.

The Young Lions will meet the Black Starlets at Gillingham on Tuesday 20 November and fourteen of those included took part at the recent U17 World Cup in Korea where England reached the Quarter Finals. Ghana went one step further before being knocked out in the Semis.

Jordan Spence, who captained England on their Asian adventure, has been selected just weeks after turning out for the U19s who secured a place at the Elite Round of qualifying for the European Championship.

The West Ham defender scored memorably against Brazil in Korea three months ago while Rhys Murphy, Victor Moses and Daniel Welbeck, who all netted as England reached the Quarter Finals, have been named in Eastick's squad.

Huddersfield goalkeeper Alex Smithies, arguably England's player of the World Cup, has been named alongside Chelsea's all-action right-back Seth Nana Ofori-Twumasi, another who enjoyed an outstanding trip to Korea.

Two midfielders also involved are Michael Woods, who became the fourth youngest ever player to turn out for Chelsea last season and started every World Cup game, and Middlesbrough wideman Jonathan Franks, who also shone in Korea.

Plymouth Argyle's Daniel Gosling, who has played first-team football this season, has also been included.

Tottenham winger Daniel Rose and Manchester United 'keeper Ben Amos would have taken part at the World Cup had it not been for injuries.

Arsenal's Jay Thomas, who was been involved with the U17s last season, and new boy Kieran Trippier of Manchester City, are in the squad too.
