Baxter, who will be assisted during the tournament by Nigel Pearson has an impressive 18-man squad at his disposal which features a number of players who helped England to semi-finals of the UEFA European Under-16 Championships last summer.

The captain of that side, Everton's Steven Schumacher, will be looking to continue his international progression, as will Blackburn's busy midfielder Ciaran Donnelly.

 
Further forward, Nottingham Forest's Craig Westcarr will offer searing pace and skill down the right flank, while Manchester United striker Eddie Johnson's physical presence will be another potent weapon.

Tottenham's Marcel McKie, who played for the Under-19s last season, will add some balance and composure to the left side of defence and there is also a place in the squad for young goalkeeper Luke Steele who recently joined Manchester United from Peterborough.


 

The former Posh 'keeper made a dream move to Old Trafford earlier this month and is just trying to come to terms with being at one of Europe's biggest clubs, and he was equally as delighted when he received his international call.

"It was a bit of a weird feeling when I looked at the letter and saw my name next to my club Manchester United as I got used to looking for Peterborough United." Steele told Posh's Official Club Website.

"One of my new teammates Eddie Johnson is in the squad and him being there with me will be comforting for the both of us.

"I have been traing with Tony Godden and Mark Tyler and London Road throughout this month to maintain my fitness. I don't think it will have any effect on whether they pick me or not in the games, but at least I will be ready and fit if I do get the nod to perform."
