England Under-17s concluded their Nordic Championship campaign with a moral-boosting 4-1 win over Norway - a result which meant the young Lions finished third.

Just two days after slipping to a defeat against Sweden, England found their goal-scoring touch with Ryan Donaldson again leading from the front.

The Newcastle man scored one and made one, although it was his fellow forward Daniel Philliskirk who got England underway in the 17th minute.

After picking up a loose ball, the Chelsea man dummied the Norway keeper before coolly slotting home.

But it did not take Donaldson long to get on the act when he turned and fired in from 20 yards after 33 minutes.

Jamie Sheldon made it 3-0 after 43 minutes by running on to a pass from Donaldon before firing home.

Vegar Hedenstad pulled a goal back ten minutes later with a penalty, but the three goal cushion was restored with seven minutes remaining.

After a clever one-two with Conor Henderson, Matthew Briggs surged into the box and slotted home.

England Goals: Philliskirk 17, Donaldson 33, Sheldon 43, Briggs 73

Norway Goals: Hedenstad 53 (pen)
