England Head Coach Steve McClaren has paid tribute to England's U17s, who have reached the Final of the UEFA European Championship in Belgium.

John Peacock's team defeated France 1-0 on Thursday night thanks to a goal from Crystal Palace's Victor Moses, and now face Spain on Sunday in Tournai. Kick-off is at 5.45pm local time.

McClaren said: "The U17s have been in fantastic form recently and reaching the Final is a fantastic acheivement.

"Their ability, determination and character shone through against France and they really deserved the win. John Peacock and the players deserve enormous credit.

"Spain have set the standard in Europe at this level and consistently produce outstanding young footballers. However, I know John Peacock will have prepared the team extremely thoroughly and they will be full of confidence.

"To win the European crown would be a great moment for English football and a hugely encouraging indicator of future talent coming through."

The team's progress has seen them qualify for the FIFA World U17 Championship in Korea in August/September, the first time England have reached this competition.

The match will be screened live on Eurosport.
