UEFA European U17 Championship
Elite Qualifying Round
England, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Azerbaijan
23, 25 & 28 March 2008
Bosnia

John Peacock has named his squad for the forthcoming European Championship Elite Qualifying Round in Bosnia at the end of March.

The young Lions will be playing the host nation, Serbia & Herzegovina and Azerbaijan with a place at the European Championship in Belgium two months later at stake.

Peacock's outfit have enjoyed a successful year so far, losing just twice in 13 games to Spain and Germany - two of the most feared teams in European youth football.

With the other three teams battling for qualification not in Spain or Germany's class, England will be hoping to progress, although playing in Bosnia will present a new challenge.

England's last outing was at the Algarve Tournament where they finished second to Germany but ahead of France and Portugal.

Jonathan Franks, Rhys Murphy and Victor Moses, England's three scorers in Portugal, have all been retained for the trip to Bosnia.

Michael Woods, who scored twice on his Under-17 debut, is back in the squad after missing out on the Algarve trip.

The Championship and League One are represented with Leeds' Daniel Rose and Tommy Smith of Ipswich being called up, as well as Nottingham Forest's James Reid.

Coming into the squad for the first time is Daniel Gosling - Plymouth Argyle's 17 year old midfielder.
