John Peacock's Young Lions secured their impressive victory with some classic matches and 12 incredible goals . |
It was a fantastic tournament with some incredible performances and spectacular goals, and now we bring you the highlights.
England opened with an unfortunate draw with Turkey, in perhaps the closest contest that they faced during the tournament. Taking a two-goal lead in the game thanks to two brilliant goals from Chelsea's Michael Woods, Turkey showed their class by coming back to level the scores.
England recovered from that setback with a truly outstanding performance against a confident USA side, notching six goals in a game that demonstrated the potential of some of England's young players.
Speaking after that game John Peacock said: "It's not often you can sit back and watch a game at this level without worrying about the way the players are doing.
"It was very close to the best performance in my time coaching with England, it was an excellent display.
"The players deserve a lot of credit because they took our instructions on board and they performed exactly as we hoped they would.
"Obviously after the disappointment of Wednesday night they needed to bounce back and show what they can do, and they did that."
The Young Lions rounded the tournament off with an equally impressive victory over Portugal, scoring four goals this time which included two absolute screamers from Ashley Chambers and Victor Moses.
