Thursday 12th September 2002
FISF International Soccer Tournament
Gaeta, kick off 8.30pm

Playing in their first game of the FISF International Tournament - where funds raised will go to help those affected by the tragic events of September 11th 2001 - John Peacock's side gave themselves a lead as early as the 15th minute when Fulham's Liam Fontaine netted.

However, their advantage was only to last three minutes before the USA equalised from the penalty spot and then on the 23rd minute grabbed the winner.

The Young Lions have a chance to put the defeat behind them this afternoon when they take on Yugoslavia in their second game.
