Club: Sunderland
The younger brother of former Sunderland and former England Under-21 goalkeeper Ben Alnwick. Jak is also a goalkeeper and has already played for the Black Cats’ U18 Academy team. He was called into the squad to replace the injured Adam Davies.
Name: Lateef Elford-Alliyu

Club: West Bromwich Albion
A striker who isn’t afraid to let fly with a shot. Lateef is already a regular for Albion’s U18 Academy team and the reserves and played in a summer friendly with Stafford for the first team, scoring a spectacular 40 yard winner in the process. Made a substitute appearance against Wales.

A pacy forward, who can play on the right hand side of the attack, or as an out-and-out winger. He was in the squad for the first time against Wales and made his debut in that match.

The striker is already a regular in the Everton Academy U18 side and has been on the scoresheet on a number of occasions for the Toffees in the Premier Academy League. A real danger in the penalty box with his goalscoring instinct. Scored from the penalty spot against Wales in the last game.

The Gunners ace is a versatile midfielder and one of a highly rated crop of youngsters from the Emirates Stadium. He was in the squad against Northern Ireland and featured in that game as a right-back.

This goalkeeper was part of the Everton U15 squad which was successful in the summer’s Nike Cup in Manchester. He played back-up to Jed Steer against Northern Ireland, but was in impressive form against Wales in the following game.

A powerful and energetic midfielder who has already established himself in Arsenal’s Academy U18 team. A good range of passing and very strong tackling has seen him progress through the ranks at the Emirates Stadium. Born in Ghana, but raised in England.

A composed central defender who has been in the U16s squad on numerous occasions this season. He scored his first goal for the Young Lions in the defeat against Holland in February 2008

The left sided defender is a member of the highly-rated Academy in place at Leeds United and featured for the first time as a substitute in the win over Wales.

A tall and pacy forward who hails from Devon and has been on the books of local club Plymouth Argyle since he was spotted playing at the under 12 level. He has often played in the age group above and was in the squad against Northern Ireland, but made his debut against Wales.

A versatile defender from the Albion Academy, who is primarily a right-sided full back but can also play on the left if required.

A tall and powerful central defender, who has been a pillar of the defence for Reading in his games with the Academy so far. He featured in the Northern Ireland match.

A diminutive left sided midfielder, with bags of pace and skill who likes to run at players and get crosses into the box. He started the game against Northern Ireland but injury saw him unfortunately substituted in the game.

The tall and pacy right-back has impressed greatly in his games for Fulham so far and will now be looking to make an impression on the international stage. Made a substitute appearance at Blackpool in the last Victory Shield game and then started the match with Wales.

A midfielder who was drafted into the U16 squad for the friendly game against Holland in February, when he made his first appearance in the starting line-up.

Centre back Eddie has already featured for his club, after making a substitute appearance in a friendly game against Wingate & Finchley for the Hornets this summer and he made a substitute appearance last time out against Northern Ireland and then started the match with Wales.

Jamie was called into the squad for the first time for the match with Holland in February 2008 and the defender made his debut from the start in that game.

A pacy striker who hails from Croydon and is still classed as an U15 player so is playing a year above his age group and will be hoping to follow in the England footsteps of clubmates John Bostock and Victor Moses.

Capable of operating in midfield or up front, he has already operated three years above his natural age group for the Charlton Athletic Academy U18 side and is a dab hand from set-pieces, offering great delivery from free kicks and is a livewire in the box, as was seen by his goal against Northern Ireland last month and then the free kick he scored against Wales.

A regular for the Canaries Academy at various age groups and a highly rated young keeper at Carrow Road, Steer featured in the Shield opener against Northern Ireland.

The Reds midfielder can be useful at either end of the pitch and is a tenacious player who also has the ability to play. Wore the captain’s armband against Northern Ireland and was again impressive against Wales.

A 'distant relation' of Arsenal striker Theo, he can play on the left wing or in midfield. Hailing from Abingdon, he has been with Reading's Academy since he was spotted playing for school at the age of 13.
