The similarities are not obvious at first glance, but Jacob Walcott is already following hot on the heels of his illustrious cousin Theo.

Taller and stockier than his famous distant relation, you might need to see him with a ball at his feet and some space to burst into before you realise he's another Walcott.

"He’s taller than me," joked Theo. "Everyone is taller than me, but he’s only 15."

The Arsenal flyer first met Jacob just a few weeks ago at a superheroes party. "My cousin is leaving to go to Australia so he wanted a superheroes theme. My cousin Tom knows Jacob and he came to the party. He had not dressed as anything though. But he seems a really nice lad and hopefully he will do well."

And who did Theo dress up as? "I was Iron Man. Everyone kept on asking ‘who the hell is Iron Man?’ There is a film coming out in February. Everyone will know about him then. He’s my favourite superhero character."

While people had problems recognising Iron Man, the same can't be said of the person underneath the fancy dress.

One of the most recognisable faces in English football, Theo has made a dramatic impact since first breaking into the Southampton team as a sprightly 16 year old. The England youth team coaches knew about him before that though, selecting him for an U16 training camp at the start of the 2003 season.

"I remember going to Lilleshall for the first time," he recalled. "I played right-back. I have actually played there for Arsenal against Everton. I had Andy Johnson running at me. I thought ‘oh my God, what am I going to do?’ Luckily I got the tackle in."

He was an unused substitute when England played Scotland later that season, a game which ended 1-1 to guarantee the Auld Enemy shared the Victory Shield.

"I went to the Victory Shield but didn’t play," he recalled. "I was at the Scotland game in Hampden Park when Miles Weston scored his free-kick. That was the only Victory Shield game I was there for. It was a good experience though."

Jacob will be hoping to make more of an impact at Falkirk tonight.
