Scotland U16s coach Ross Mathie is looking forward to pitting his wits against Kenny Swain tonight as the Sky Sports Victory Shield reaches it's climax, with a draw good enough for Scotland to take home the trophy.

While England will undoubtedly be looking to secure the win that will give them victory, Mathie's Scotland will be looking to make up for defeat to the Three Lions in the final game of the Shield last year at Fir Park.

No matter what the result however Mathie believes that football will be the real winner.

Mathie said: "There is a great friendship between the coaching staff of England and Scotland as well as a great rivalry but the most important thing for both backroom staffs is the future development of the young players in our charges and the Victory Shield is part of that development.

"Whatever the result tonight I do hope that Youth Football will be the winner and that the spectators at Scunthorpe as well as those watching at home will enjoy the game and seeing potential stars of the future.

"Everyone in the Scottish party is looking forward to the match tonight. England will certainly provide a very tough challenge for us this evening but I am sure that the TV audience and spectators will see both sets of players showing commitment, passion, determination, enthusiasm and a high degree of skill that has been shown in their respective matches against Northern Ireland and Wales.

"Kenny Swain, who I have the greatest respect for, is one of England’s outstanding Youth Coaches. He will no doubt have his young team well organised and well prepared for this final match in the Sky Sports Victory Shield."
