Luke started his career as a trainee at Tottenham where he spent four seasons, making 58 League appearances before moving south of the river to The Valley in the summer of 2001.

Never previously called up by England, Young does have international experience with the England U18 and U21 teams.

He won three caps during the 1997-98 season and three more for the same team in 1998/99.

He also has 12 caps at U21 level.
