A talented midfielder, Richardson has enjoyed a good loan spell at the Hawthorns this season, helping keep Bryan Robson's West Bromwich Albion in the Premiership.

His performances in the top flight earned him England senior recognition for the USA Tour in May 2005, where he earned his first start for Sven's men scoring both goals in their 2-1 win in Chicago.

Previously with West Ham United, London-born Richardson emerged on the fringes of the United first team squad in the 2002/03 season when he made his debut in the Champions League against Olympiakos.

Later in that season, Richardson helped United win the FA Youth Cup, scoring in the final.
