Jermaine, a precocious youngster at Nottingham Forest who joined Newcastle as an 18-year-old, won nine caps at Under-21 level and progressed to make his full debut as a substitute against Australia in February 2003. His second-half performance earned him the "Man of the Match" award. Comfortable on the ball, he looks increasingly at home at the top level and made his first England start in Azerbaijan last October.

Joined Tottenham Hotspur from Newcastle United in a £7 million deal in August 2005.
