Darius is a quick and skilful striker who loves to take defences on. He scored a vital goal against Turkey in the Stadium of Light in April 2003 and made another important contribution as a substitute for Heskey in Istanbul as England gained the required point to send them to Euro 2004.

Darius was the unfortunate man to have his penalty saved in the Euro 2004 quarter final against Portugal, but will doubtless have the strength of character to play a vital part in England's World Cup 2006 qualifying campaign.

A summer move to Man City could re-ignite his international career.
