With electric pace and an attacking instinct, Ashley has added an extra dimension to England’s left side. Though still young, he has been a regular under Sven and was an ever-present at the 2002 World Cup and Euro 2004.
At the European Championship he was lauded for his performance against the livewire Ronaldo in England's quarter-final against the Portuguese hosts. He was one of four England players named in the official Euro 2004 All-Star squad by the UEFA technical study group. |
