John Terry began life as England captain with a goal against Greece.

We continue our summer series of looking at the England A-Z - today, the letter T is for John Terry, the Three Lions captain.
The Three Lions' defensive cornerstone made his international debut in 2003 against Serbia & Montenegro.
A fantastic run of form for both club and country made him Sven-Goran Eriksson's first choice centre-back ahead of Euro 2004 in Portugal and he impressed in the run to the quarter-finals.
As Chelsea skipper, leading them to back-to-back Premiership titles, many touted Terry as a future England captain - and they did not have long to wait as he took the armband in a World Cup qualifier against Poland in the absence of David Beckham and Michael Owen.
Terry netted his first goal for his country in the warm-up game with Hungary before the 2006 World Cup, and played in England's group opener against Paraguay in Germany.
In the Three Lions' second match, a spectacular clearance from underneath his own crossbar by Terry spared England the embarrassment of trailing at half-time against minnows Trinidad and Tobago.
England went on to win 2-0 and book their place in the knockout phase. Terry played in the quarter-final against Portugal, which proved to be England's last game in the tournament as they were eliminated on penalties, despite a valiant effort which left Terry and a number of team-mates in tears at the final whistle.
In August 2006, Terry was named as successor to Beckham as England captain after the appointment of Steve McClaren as Head Coach. Terry scored on his debut as skipper in a friendly against Greece - and kissed his armband in celebration.
