VIDEO: Fabio Capello in Lesotho

See footage of England Manager Fabio Capello as he visits Africa with an FA Delegation and takes in a training session.

Speaking during his visit to Lesotho, England Manager Fabio Capello says that he believes Wayne Rooney has the qualities to one day captain the Three Lions.

Wayne Rooney has started up front for England in both games this year, and Capello feels strongly that the Manchester United forward is a special talent.

While Capello has not decided who will lead England out at Wembley when they take on USA next month, he believes that in the future Rooney could take the armband.

Capello said: "I am undecided who will be captain for the next game and Wayne Rooney is very young but I believe in the future he could be captain of England one day.

"What are his qualities for the role? He is a leader, he is a good example on the pitch. Like I said, he is very young so we need to give him a bit more time to get some more experience and mature a bit.

"But I do believe he could one day be captain. He is the most talented young English player and the good thing is he has still got a big margin of improvement ahead of him.

"He is very good at everything. The one thing he can improve is the number of chances he puts away. He doesn’t convert as many as he could but I am sure that will come in the future."

Capello was speaking from Lesotho on his International Relations visit, where and Ray Clemence were greeted by a song and dance from the locals.

Once there they watched a training session involving local school teachers and pupils in the capital Maseru. After the coaching sessions, Capello and Clemence headed inside the headquarters where they took part in a ceremony to present gifts and kit to the Lesotho FA.
