The Football Association and DFB today announced that England will play Germany in Berlin at the Olympic Stadium on 19 November 2008.
England were last in Berlin to play West Germany for their 1972 European Championship Quarter Final second-leg which ended in a goalless draw. The last time England faced Germany on their home soil was for a World Cup Qualifier at Munich in 2001. This resulted in the famous 5-1 victory and a Michael Owen hat-trick.
Ticket information will be announced during the next englandfans+ membership period, which will commence in July 2008.
England manager Fabio Capello said: "This should be a great match. I'm delighted this fixture has been arranged, it should be a real challenge and something the players will look forward to."
England's next game - and Capello's first in charge - is against Switzerland next month at Wembley. All available tickets have been sold. The team then travel to Paris to play another friendly against France in March. No Summer fixtures have been announced at this time.
Earlier this month, Fabio Capello travelled to Zagreb to negotiate England's World Cup qualification schedule. The first game will be away to Andorra on Saturday, 6 September and then away to Croatia on the following Wednesday.
