Steve McClaren has named a 26-man squad for the friendly with Austria a week today, and the final Euro 2008 qualifier with Croatia at Wembley five days later.
England captain John Terry misses out through injury, as does fellow defender Rio Ferdinand due to the Manchester United player being suspended for the visit of Slaven Bilic's side to Wembley.
David Beckham returns to the midfield ranks together with Owen Hargreaves who has recovered from an early season injury and recently played 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium.
Ashley Young keeps his place in the squad after some fine form for Aston Villa this season, where he is joined by teammate Gareth Barry who has started in each of England's last four Euro 2008 qualifiers.
Wayne Rooney will be looking to continue his fine form for club and country, having scored nine times in his previous nine appearances for England and Man Utd.
England travel to Austria for a friendly against the joint-hosts of Euro 2008, where they will face Josef Hickersberger's team in the Ernst Happel Stadion in Vienna.
The following Wednesday evening England face Croatia in the final match of the Three Lions' Euro 2008 qualifying campaign.
