Joe Cole is calling on everyone at Wembley to get behind England and roar them to qualification for the European Championship Finals.

The Chelsea midfielder is urging all England fans in the capacity crowd on Wednesday to back their side to the hilt in the bid to qualify for Austria and Switzerland next summer.

Cole said: "The message, as a fan myself, is there is plenty of time to voice your opinion. You can go down the pub with your mates and do it or there are plenty of TV and radio phone-ins to voice your opinion.

"But when you buy that match ticket, and you come and support your country, you've got a job to do in supporting your country and there is no point coming and booing players. It don't help no-one.

"The fans can do their bit on Wednesday, as well as us, pull together and then victory will be sweet for everyone. Then, if you don't like what we do, there are plenty of avenues open to voice what you feel after the game."

Cole admitted: "It's a massive game. They don't come bigger than this in terms of what it means to the country, the players and what it means financially to the FA.

"This is the biggest game you can possibly play in. It has been a difficult campaign but we do deserve to qualify particularly with this season's performances. If we get there, it will be deserved."
