Steven Gerrard in action for England against Switzerland at Euro 2004.
England to face Swiss
Tuesday, 04 December 2007.
The FA can confirm that England will play Switzerland in a friendly at Wembley on Wednesday 6 February next year. The kick-off time and ticket details will be confirmed in due course.
It will be the 20th time the two countries have met, with England winning 12, drawing four and losing three. The most recent encounter was a 3-0 win in Coimbra during the group stage of Euro 2004, when Wayne Rooney (twice) and Steven Gerrard were on target. The last match on home soil was a 1-1 draw in the opening match of Euro 96, when a Kubilay Turkylmaz penalty cancelled out Alan Shearer's opener.
England will then play France at the Stade de France in Paris on 26 March.
