The FA have confirmed that Brazil will be England's first opponents at the new Wembley Stadium, and a ticket ballot for members of the general public has now opened.

The England team will mark their return to Wembley with a friendly international against the South Americans on Friday 1 June. Kick off is 8pm.

It will be the first England game at Wembley since facing Germany in October 2000. The match will provide the team with high calibre opposition in the build-up to the Euro 2008 qualifier against Estonia on 6 June.

FA Chief Executive Brian Barwick said: "We're delighted to be able to announce that Brazil will be the first team to take on England at the new Wembley. It's a fantastic match to mark the team's return to the stadium after nearly seven years on the road around the country.

"Brazil featured in some memorable matches at the old Wembley. The new stadium is a fantastic football arena and I'm confident there will be many new memories created there for England fans over the coming years."

England have faced Brazil nine times at Wembley. The most recent meeting was a 1-1 draw in May 2000 when Michael Owen grabbed England's goal.

Tickets for the match will be priced £60, £50, £40, £30 (Family Enclosure: £30 adults, £15 children).

Schools and Junior Football Clubs

As always a number of tickets have been made available to Schools and Junior football clubs. These tickets are situated within the family enclosure and are priced at £30 for adults and £15 for children (under 16).

The group application deadline for England v Brazil is 5pm Friday, 4 May 2007. A ballot will then take place and all successful and unsuccessful applicants will be notified of their result by e-mail in the week commencing Monday, 7 May2007.
