Phil Neville Press Conference

Everton's Phil Neville gives his thoughts as England prepare for Steve McClaren's first competitive game with Andorra.

Phil Neville is delighted that the new England management team have given him another chance to shine on the international stage.

The Everton defender made his last cap over a year ago but was pleased to see a coaching pair that know him inside out take the reigns this autumn.

Head Coach Steve McClaren worked with Neville at Manchester United and Assistant Coach Terry Venables gave him his first England cap ten years ago - so the 29-year-old is hopeful his Three Lions career can be reignited after this latest call-up to the squad to face Andorra and Macedonia.

Neville said: "A lot of players have worked under Steve from when he was assistant to Sven-Goran Eriksson and he knows all about me from our time at United.

"Terry was the first coach to pick me as well so they are two people who have had a big influence on my career.

"It's not something I can take for granted because you never know what a new manager might want to do when he takes over, but I know that Steve knows what I have to offer."
