| EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Wes Brown interview |
|
England and Man United star Wes Brown spoke exclusively to TheFA.com and took time out to answer your questions. |
Despite having his mind on tackling the best Uruguay has to offer, Wes Brown took time out to tackle your questions in an exclusive interview with TheFA.com.
We asked you to send in some questions for the England star and you replied by flooding our inbox with emails.
In fact, Wes liked them so much he decided to keep a printed version of each question at the end of the interview!
Here are a selection of the best...
How hard has it been for you to get through so many injuries?
Joe Sturgess
I've had two cruciate ligament injuries and a broken ankle, so I've been in the situation where you can lie down and let it get you down or you can come back stronger and keep going.
At times it got very boring and I was so frustrated at the time I was out, but once you get over that part you just look forward - I never thought at any point that I would never come back.
When you suffered your horrific knee injury did you ever see yourself potentially being a serious candidate for the World Cup? Did this World Cup ever seem out of reach for you at any stage?
Simon Walker
Definitely. My first game wasn't until October and you do think to yourself 'It's World Cup year and you might not be involved'. I'm just happy to be playing again and to be selected for this friendly is great for my confidence, hopefully I can carry it on this season and maybe get onto the trip to Germany.
How difficult is it being a defender at international level with so many good players in your same position?
Gareth Hubbard
It is very hard with so many good centre-backs that Sven can pick from, but I think it is good for England that we are in that situation. It drives me on and I don't ever feel unlucky, I am just grateful that I have been picked even when there are several good players in my position. It tells me that I am just as good as them.
Having gained all the medals you can for your club, which one was the highlight? How would you rate winning the World Cup?
Sahera Bibi
It has to be winning the European Cup, even though I didn't play in the game it was an amazing experience.
The first FA Cup medal is up there as well, and I'm just happy to have the set now. In years to come I can look back and say 'I won everything at club level there was to win' and hopefully last Sunday won't be the last one I'll win.
If I were to win the World Cup that would definitely top everything, and I think we've got a tremendous chance.
Is Wayne Rooney the best player you have ever played with, or does Cantona still shade it?
Dave Cooper
Wayne is an unbelievable player, I think he can be every bit as good as Cantona if not better.
Many thanks for sending in your questions. Look out for more exclusive interviews on TheFA.com.
Plus, we will give you more opportunities to quiz the stars during the World Cup.
