Sven-Goran Eriksson Press Conference

Sven looks forward to England's vital World Cup Qualifier against Wales, and reveals that Steven Gerrard is available for selection.

England Head Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson has given no secrets away about his formation to face Wales - but revealed Steven Gerrard is ready to play.

Rumours have been flying over Sven's tactics for tomorrow's World Cup qualifier at the Millennium Stadium, but he is playing his cards close to his chest.

But he would disclose the fact Liverpool captain Gerrard is been given the all-clear after overcoming injury doubts earlier this week.

Eriksson said: "Well, of course I will not talk about any formation I play until after the game, but it is important that we are able to play in different ways. Many of the big teams have different ways of playing.

"I talk with my coaching staff about tactics and I have held discussions with my players since 1976. If I can't talk to them, then who can I talk to?

"It is a qualification match so it is an extremely important one for us. The atmosphere will be special, especially for Wales fans."

Midfielder Gerrard had been in doubt with a calf injury after he missed Liverpool's match against CSKA Sofia, but Eriksson added: "He is fit and he has been training very, very well. The attitude of all the players has been fantastic this week."
