warms up for Saturday's friendly against Argentina with a look at one of the best England internationals of all time and at one of the greatest players to ever grace the game...

A wonderful match saw England beat the world champions Argentina 3-1, thanks to a brace from Liverpool forward David Johnson and a third from Kevin Keegan.

Argentina did score one of their own when Maradona was fouled by Kenny Sansom for a penalty which captain Daniel Passarella calmly knocked past Ray Clemence.

But it was an early contribution from the new boy wonder of world football, Diego Maradona, which had Wembley standing in admiration for the sheer talent in the diminutive Argentinos Juniors starlet.

A dazzling run from the 19-year-old saw him leave several defenders trailing in his wake. His shot trickled agonisingly wide of the post but the crowd stood to applaud the breathtaking genius Maradona had just displayed.

In the World Cup six years later, Maradona would repeat his magic, but he was never going to miss a second time.
