Liverpool midfielder Steven Gerrard has been named as the Champions League's Most Valuable Player for 2004/05.
The England star captained the Reds to their fifth European Cup triumph when he scored to spark an amazing comeback in the final against Milan.
Gerrard was hugely influential throughout the Anfield club's run to the final, scoring a vital goal against Olympiacos which saw Liverpool make it through to the knockout stages.
There was also recognition for John Terry who was named as the Best Defender, though a third England international - Frank Lampard - missed out on the Best Midfielder award.
