The Chelsea midfielder played a key role in the 2-1 win the Three Lions secured over the USA in Chicago.

That made it three wins on the trot for Sven-Goran Eriksson's side and Cole wants the success to continue against Colombia ahead of the final four games of the World Cup qualifying campaign.

"We need to go and win against Colombia," Cole said. "People talk about these games as friendlies but winning is a habit and you need to keep it going.

"You can't just turn it on and we want to keep it going and then take that into the rest of our qualifying games.

"Against the USA I thought we played well in the first-half and passed the ball around well.

"We ran out of steam a little bit in the second-half, but that was probably due to all the travelling catching up with us.

"It was still a good backs-to-the-wall performance and I thought all the young players who came in for their debuts did well, especially Kieran Richardson with his two goals."
