Fulham striker Brian McBride, who is second on the US all-time goalscoring list with 26 in 85 international matches, is likely to be the main threat to the England defence.

He is joined by Craven Cottage team-mate Carlos Bocanegra who has been playing left-back for Fulham this season, despite featuring mainly at centre-half for the USA team in his 33 appearances.

Championship outfit Reading provide the other two players plying their trade this side of the pond, with midfielder Bobby Convey and goalkeeper Marcus Hahnemann also included in the 19-man squad.

Another familiar name in the USA ranks is Kasey Keller who was a popular and successful goalkeeper with Millwall, Leicester and Tottenham, but who is now playing for Borussia Moenchengladbach in Germany.

The USA will provide tough opposition for Sven-Goran Eriksson's side as they build up to important World Cup qualifiers against Costa Rica and Panama.

Coach Arena said: "With the series of upcoming qualifiers against Costa Rica and Panama, I'm pleased to get this group together for the opportunity to face a quality opponent like England.

"With the majority of our players in camp, we will have almost two weeks together as a group. Having this type of preparation is extremely valuable as we head into this phase of qualifying."

After the USA game, England will then play Colombia in the second and final game of the Tour on Tuesday 31 May in New Jersey.
