The match will take place on Wednesday 17 November at Real Madrid's Estádio Santiago Bernabéu ground, home to England Lions Michael Owen, David Beckham and Jonathan Woodgate.

It will be the first time the Bernabéu has seen international football action since Spain hosted Israel in a 2002 World Cup qualifier back in October 2000.

England return to the stadium for the first time since their 4-2 friendly victory in 1987, and will be looking for another positive performance before their World Cup qualification campaign continues against Northern Ireland at Old Trafford in March 2005.

England Head Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson said: "This is a very prestigious fixture in one of the world's finest stadiums and I'm sure the players and the fans will be really looking forward to it."
