Beckham has been out of action since breaking a rib in England's World Cup qualifier against Wales at Old Trafford last month.

Having endured a tough start to his career at the Bernabeu, Owen has found his feet and Beckham has been impressed with the way that Owen has established himself with the Spanish giants.

"The injury is a nuisance because I've always enjoyed playing with him [Owen]," Beckham said on BBC Radio.

"I know that when I play with him for England he makes certain runs that I love playing balls to.

"It's frustrating for me not to be in the team, especially when Michael's playing so well.

"It's always difficult when you come to a new club in a different country.

"People were saying Michael wasn't settling but he had only been here for two weeks. But he's scored [a few] now and I'm really pleased for him.

"He scored the only goal against Valencia, which was an important game."

Beckham, 29, has targeted Real's home match against Albacete on 14 November for his comeback and should he make it then he would be fit in time to play in the England match three days later.
