Wayne Rooney interview

Wayne Rooney looks ahead to Saturday's trip to Cardiff following today's session at the London Colney Training HQ.

Wayne Rooney says he is expecting a battle in the Millennium Stadium against Wales but insists England will have all the answers.

The Manchester United star is preparing himself for a difficult afternoon in Cardiff as England go in search of three World Cup qualifying points on Saturday.

Having won 2-0 at Old Trafford in the home fixture the Three Lions are certainly favourites this time. But Rooney knows it will not be easy.

He said: "They are two massive games against Wales and Northern Ireland and we are determined to win them both.

"I think it will be a tough game in Cardiff, a battle – we’re preparing for that anyway. But hopefully we can go out and get three points.

"Wales are a good team, we know most of the players and we’ve watched videos as well. At Old Trafford we ran out worthy winners so I think it will be a lot tougher this time and with the home crowd as well that makes it harder.

"The good thing, though, is that a lot of our players have played at the Millennium Stadium before in finals and we know what to expect. We will be ready."
