ENGLAND TV: Tottenham Hotspur's summer signing Paul Robinson is looking to impress for his new club this year, and make the England jersey his own.
Speaking exclusively to TheFA.com for England TV, Paul says he is enjoying the fresh start at Spurs:
"It was a difficult season last year at Leeds," he explained. "There was a lot of uncertainty, probably from the time the transfer nearly went through at Christmas to the end of the season.
"There was uncertainty and speculation about my future and a a lot of other player's futures at Leeds. So to finally get it settled and sorted is good
"I know where I'm at. I've got a four-year contract at Tottenham and I'm not looking any further than that at the moment - I'm just concentrating on playing week in and week out at Spurs
"I think the new start at the new club has given me the boost I needed, and hopefully I can push for an England place."
Do you see yourself as England's future no.1?
"That's got to be my aim. I've got to produce on the pitch week in week out for Tottenham
"A lot of my game needs to improve - I'm still only 24 . I've had two full seasons and a couple of half seasons here and there. 24 is still young for a goalkeeper. I've got a lot to learn I'm still on a big learning curve
Do you feel more established in the England setup now than a year ago?
You feel more comfortable because you've been together as a group for a long time. This group of players has been together for a while, and there's a great team spirit here.
We were very close to doing something in Portugal, and the World Cup as well, so hopefully we can all peak for Germany.
It's every boy's dream to play for his country, especially in a World Cup Final, so that is what the aim is.
