Manager Pawel Janas has named a 24-man squad for the game in Chorzow, with ten of those plying their trade in Poland's Premier League - the Ekstraklasa.

And six of those - Marcin Baszczynski, Tomasz Klos, Arkadiusz Glowacki, Damian Gorawski, Mariusz Kukielka and Maciej Zurawski - play for Wisla Krakow who have won all four league games this season to claim top spot in the table.

Elsewhere, there are a number of Polish players featuring for top European sides who have made a similarly strong start to the season.

Defender Jacek Bak has impressed for French side Lens as they have remained unbeaten in their first four games of the season and conceded just one goal in the process.

And Jacek Krzynowek has starred for Bayer Leverkusen in Germany and helped them claim joint-top spot in the Bundesliga. The midfielder particularly caught the eye as Leverkusen thrashed mighty Bayern Munich 4-1 in the most recent round of fixtures, setting up one of the goals for Brazilian striker Franca with a pinpoint pass.

Meanwhile, Euzebiusz Smolarek has played in two of Feyenoord's games this season as the Dutch side have stormed to the top of their league by scoring 11 goals in the first three fixtures.

Perhaps the most well-known Polish international is Liverpool goalkeeper Jerzy Dudek (left) who has retained his place in the Premier League side despite the challenge from England hopeful Chris Kirkland.

But Dudek has conceded
a goal in each of his three games this season as the Merseysiders have made a stuttering start to the season.

Having suffered a 5-1 defeat to Denmark in the warm-up match last month, Poland bounced back on Sunday with a professional 3-0 win away to Northern Ireland.

Goals from Maciej Zurawski, Piotr Wlodarczyk and Jacek Krzynowek sealed the all important three points for Janas' side, though the Poles will be without Wlodarczyk after he was sent-off after 80 minutes of the match at Windsor Park.

Perhaps one thing England should bear in mind is that back in May Poland recorded a superb 3-1 win over Greece - just a month before Otto Rehhagel's side went on to win the European Championship.
