Frank Lampard says England are still determined to improve despite qualifying for the World Cup Finals.
Lampard's penalty against Austria earned the Three Lions a 1-0 victory on Saturday and clinched our place in Germany next year.
But there is no chance of the players standing still as they bid to hit top form by June 2006 when the finals kick off.
Lampard said: "We were pleased to beat Austria but we will do more and we are capable of more, we won't hide from that fact.
"There were glimpses in the first half of some really good football. I felt comfortable in there, I felt really comfortable whenever I received the ball.
"But I think, as a team, we need to learn from the last few games because we haven't been at our best. But Austria was better and hopefully Wednesday will be better again and by the World Cup we'll be ready."
Lampard says he is delighted to have the chance of playing in the World Cup Finals, especially after he was left out of the squad for the 2002 tournament in Korea and Japan.
He said: "It means loads to qualify for the World Cup. I wasn't involved last time, I was on the fringes and I didn't go, so it will mean even more to me. For me it's a massive thing, because you want to push yourself at the highest level."
Lampard is hoping that by the time the finals kick off in Germany next year his partnership in central midfeld with Steven Gerrard will be one of the best in the world.
He said: "There was talk about me and Steven before the match but we sorted it out together. We speak about it, we're good mates. I think he sat a bit deeper but there were times when he went forward and I sat for him and I don't think we got exposed."
Lampard is also England's new penalty taker, following a discussion with previous taker David Beckham and the go-ahead from Head Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson. And he was delighted to convert from the spot against Austria.
He said: "There was pressure. It was a 'step-up' penalty, especially considering the results we've had lately and the importance of it, to qualify for the World Cup. It's a bit different to taking them for Chelsea and I had to take the extra responsibility and I'm pleased I did it."
