Cole is adamant the England players want to bounce back in style at the Millennium Stadium in a crucial World Cup qualifier.

England lie two points behind Poland in Group 6, but have a vital game in hand and Cole knows the importance of getting back on the winning trail.

Cole said: "We just want to get back out there and put things right. There is no doubt it wasn’t good against Denmark in the last friendly and it’s just a case of getting back to what we are good at.

"On paper Wales have not got a lot of high profile players, but they are a great side and it will be a tough game for us.

"It is never nice to lose any game, but it could be a blessing for us. People keep talking about us winning the World Cup, but no matter how many great players you have in a side, it’s just a matter of what you do on the day.

"As a footballer you have always got to stay professional. This is a great job to have and we are very lucky. We have just got to keep improving and be the best that we can be.

"At the top you are there to be shot down. I have got to hold onto my place for Chelsea and England.

"I really enjoy it and that is the best advice I can give to any youngster. If you are not enjoying your football you might as well stop. I didn’t feel that lucky after the Denmark game and it’s not something I want to experience again."
