Frank Lampard post-match

England goalscorer Frank Lampard says England can take their form on to the World Cup next summer.

Goal hero Frank Lampard believes that England will match any team in the world if they carry on their excellent form that saw them ease past Poland with a 2-1 win.

Lampard netted his tenth international goal with a delightful volley from close range as England topped their qualifying group.

His superb strike took his tally to five in this qualifying campaign alone and ensured al the points with Michael Owen opening the scoring just minutes before Tomasz Frankowski's equaliser.

"Everyone in the dressing room is very happy," said Lampard. "We really went after Poland tonight.

"When Michael played the ball over I just hit it home. Many players would have headed it home, but I am not that good with my head. I am very pleased with the finish because it is such a hard skill.

"If we can take this form into the World Cup then any team will have to do well just to cope with us."
