Peter Crouch: Post-Match Reaction

The Liverpool striker talks to TheFA.com after making his home debut for England against Austria at Old Trafford.

Peter Crouch is hoping England can score more goals against Poland after he made an encouraging home debut against Austria.

The Liverpool striker impressed as the Three Lions beat Austria 1-0 to qualify for the World Cup Finals, and now he is ready for Wednesday's clash against the Poles.

He said: "We have to go into the Poland game with the same attitude. We have to be confident after getting a win today and this time hopefully get a few more goals."

Crouch was pleased with his performance against the Austrians and showed plenty of promise in his partnership with Michael Owen.

He said: "It was good with Michael. It works well, he's a top class player and I enjoy playing with him.

"It was disappointing, really, that it got broken up because with the sending off we had to change to a different formation.

"At the end it was difficult up there on my own. But I thought we coped with it well - and we got the result and that's what matters."
