Manninger in the way?
Friday, 27 August 2004.
Austrian Head Coach Hans Krankl has named a 23-man squad for the match against England on 04 September.
The Austrians will meet up on Sunday evening as they look to start their World Cup qualifying in fine style against England.
The squad, which has an average age of 26, includes five foreign-based players, including Brescia duo Markus Schopp and former Arsenal goalkeeper Alex Manninger.
This is the first call up for Manninger since since October 2002, when he played at home to the Dutch.
There are two new faces in Krankl's squad - Liebherr GAK's midfielder Gernot Sick and Wustenrot Salzburg defender Andreas Ibertsberger.
