He is such a star at home that he was recently voted Austrian Footballer of the Century, when the Austrian Football Association celebrated its 100th anniversary this month.

Prohaska won the league and reached the European Cup-Winners-Cup Final in 1977/78 with Vienna.

He then moved to Italy where he won the Italian Cup with Internazionale and the league with AS Roma.

Prohaska played 83 times for the national side scoring ten goals and starred in the 1978 and 1982 World Cup finals. He was part of the team who beat Germany 3-2 in ’78.

Prohaska returned to Austria as coach of Vienna where he won the League and Cup twice. In 1992 he became coach of the Under-21 side before then taking over of the national side a year later.

He resigned from the post, however, a year later and now works as a commentator.
