Beckham's side were unfortunate to concede two late goals in Austria last night to start their World Cup qualifying campaign with just a point.

England were in control for the most part and even the Austrians appeared surprised to get a 2-2 draw judging by the wild celebrations at the final whistle.

But the Real Madrid star said: "We have to pick ourselves up. There is no other way around it because we expected to come away on Saturday with the three points. We didn't so we have to lift ourselves.

"We have a good side. It is just a case of everyone gelling at the right time and for the last 20 minutes we maybe just took our foot off the pedal.

"We are very disappointed, but it's important now that the team forget about this and win on Wednesday because we have to.

"This draw puts more pressure on us as a team to win on Wednesday because two points or one point out of two games is definitely not good enough.

"I am sure we have all played in Poland before and it is a hostile atmosphere and it is going to be a tougher game than it was against Austria."
