Press Conference: Sven-Goran Eriksson

Sven talks to the press on the day England meet up for their two final Group Six World Cup Qualifiers.

Ashley Cole is out of England's final World Cup Group Six Qualifiers against Austria and Poland due to injury.

Having met up with the rest of the Three Lions squad in Manchester on Tuesday afternoon, Cole has returned to London to gain treatment on a stress fracture of his foot.

Liverpool's Stephen Warnock comes into the squad as a replacement for Cole.

The 23-year-old received his first call-up for the double header against Wales and Northern Ireland last month and will provide a natural alternative on the left.

Speaking at his press conference at Old Trafford on Tuesday night, England Head-Coach Sven-Goran Eriksson explained more: "Ashley had to pull out, unfortunately. He had a scan on his foot and he has a stress fracture, so he will be out for one month at least.

"It's a pity to lose Ashley Cole because he is probably the best left-back in the world."

He added: "We have a lot of options at left-back. Carragher is one, Warnock, of course, Phil Neville is another and Kieran Richardson is playing left-back for Manchester United at the moment, so we have options."
