Lampard lauds Crouch

England midfielder Frank Lampard believes Liverpool striker Peter Crouch deserves to be in the England squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers.

Crouch caused Chelsea all sorts of problems when they played Liverpool in Wednesday's Champions League match.

Crouch has been impressive for the Reds since joinging from Southampton in the summer and is in line for a call-up for the matches against Poland and Austria.

"I could have told you before that Crouch is one of the best at what he does," said Lampard.

"Every team gives you different problems and at Liverpool it was Crouch. First and foremost he is good at what
he does, holding the ball up and trying to bring people into the game.

"He poses a different
kind of threat to what you encounter elsewhere and does it very well.

"You know when he is playing he is going to get hit with a lot of long balls and you have to deal with it.

"He has got great feet and not only does he flick the ball on but he is a good player with his feet
. He will be pushing for an England place for sure. He is fresh and different
. He played well last night and is someone we can use."

Sven names his squad for the two World Cup qualifiers here on TheFA.com on Sunday evening.
