David Beckham: Press Conference

England skipper David Beckham looks ahead to Wednesday's World Cup Qualifier against Northern Ireland.

David Beckham backed Michael Owen’s return to the England starting line-up for their World Cup qualifier against Northern Ireland after the striker served his one-game ban.

The Three Lions’ captain also revealed that he would not like to have Sven-Goran Eriksson’s task of picking a starting eleven with so many stars now available.

And Beckham admitted he will be going out to entertain the crowd and called upon his team mates to play their individual roles.

He said: "Any team with Michael Owen is going to be a dangerous. Obviously we have a good team without Michael, but he is one of the best goal scorers that England have ever had and with him we will be even more dangerous.

"Any football manager has difficult decisions, especially the England manager when he has so many great players in the squad.

"I would not like his job of picking a starting eleven. When everyone is fit it is difficult to pick a team.

"It is all about individuals and if they play well then we will win. We just want to play good football and entertain the crowd who have paid to come and see us and we want to get all three points."
