Herzog will take charge of the team for the World Cup qualifiers against England and Northern Ireland following the decision to part company with coach Hans Krankl earlier this week.

Former Bayern Munich midfielder Herzog, who won a record 103 caps for his country, has selected a party of 22 players for the matches including one debutant in Austria Vienna midfielder Andreas Lasnik.

Austria Vienna are the best represented team with four players in the squad, which also contains Middlesbrough's Emanuel Pogatetz and Kaiserslautern's former Sunderland and Chelsea goalkeeper Jurgen Macho.
