Though Alf Ramsey, of course, won the World Cup with his legendary 1966 squad, Ramsey's points-per-game average in competitive matches doesn't compare positively with that of Sven.

Giving three points for a win and one for a draw, Sven has currently got an average of 2.31 points per game, whereas Ramsey only manages 2 points, as do Glenn Hoddle and Don Revie.

Ron Greenwood, England's manager for the 1982 World Cup, gets closest to Sven. In his 26 competitive matches in charge, Greenwood lost just four games.

One man who didn't lose a single competitive match was Terry Venables. Due to the fact that his one major tournament with England was Euro 96, which England of course hosted, Terry had no qualifying campaign and as such only had five competitive matches in charge, which ended with penalty shoot-out failure against Germany.

Sven's only defeat so far has been the World Cup quarter-final, where England bowed out of the competition losing 2-1 to Brazil.

Let's hope he can keep it up...
