Thursday, 22 May 2003.
Liverpool defender Jamie Carragher has been called into the England squad, TheFA.com can exclusively reveal.
As the team prepare for this evening's friendly in South Africa, Sven brought in 25 year-old Carragher who'll join up with the rest of the players at the weekend.
Carragher has eight senior caps since making his debut in the April '99 friendly away in Hungary where England were held 1-1 and he also holds the record for the number of Under-21 appearances, 27 all told.
Speaking to us this afternoon, The FA's Head of Media Relations, Adrian Bevington, said: "Jamie has been called-up and will be joining us on Sunday."
"He'll be with the squad for the trip to La Manga and will stay for the rest of this summer programme," he added.
