How do you rate England's chances of getting through the group stages?

Good. They seem to pick up their game against better opposition. No-one really gave us a chance before the last Argentina game during France 98 but afterwards everyone thought we deserved to win. We're much better organised as a team now and I reckon we will play much better knowing we have three hard games.

Do you think England can win the 2002 World Cup?

If they can get through this group, then anything can happen. It's down to skill and a lot of luck too.

If not England then who?

On paper it should be France or Argentina but Italy always get all the luck!

Where will you be watching the games?

I'll be watching the group games in Japan. Then if England get through to the semis, by hook or by crook, I'll beg, borrow or steal some cash and go back out there for the semi and (hopefully) the final.

How do you rate England's chances of getting through the group stages?

If we can go out to Germany where we were under extreme pressure to get the win and succeed, I don't see any problems. In a group like ours, we will have to play well from the start and personally I think we will win our group.

What do you think of the 2002 England squad compared to the one that went to France 98?

It's obviously a lot younger squad than the one in 98, but I think we now have a better coach and more world class players.

Do you think England can win the 2002 World Cup?

Definitely! We are one of four serious contenders along with France, Argentina and Portugal.

Where will you be watching the games?

Myself and my son William will be watching the England matches and a few other World Cup matches from the stadiums in Japan. We have been very fortunate to have been allocated tickets for the games.

What do you think of England's chances of getting through the group stages to the later rounds?

I think it could go either way - we'll either go out after three defeats or we'll go all the way to the semi-finals and maybe beyond! But the group round is a struggle and once we get past we'll have a lot of confidence to get much further.

How do you rate England's squad for 2002 compared to France 98?

There's definitely less experience with the retirement of players like Alan Shearer, but in terms of talent and flair we're much better equipped this time. Beckham and Owen have big reputations now and Gerrard will be very influential depending on his fitness.

If not England then who?

Definitely Argentina. They've got such a high quality of players and the right temperament for the big occasions. Obviously the other candidates are France as they have such a big squad of world class players who appear to be coming into form at the right time.

Where will you watching England's games?

I'll definitely be watching the group games in Japan and I've got an option on a ticket for the first knockout stage because I'm optimistic!

How do you rate England's chances of getting through the group stages?

I reckon England have a more than even chance of getting through the group stages.

How does this squad compare to France 98?

I believe the 2002 squad has more depth and balance than the France 98 squad. More importantly, this team has the ability to change the style of play during a game and that makes them a lot better-equipped than the 98 squad.

Do you think England can win this World Cup?

Unfortunately I don't think we'll win it this time. I think we'll give a good account of ourselves, but feel we will do well to make the semi finals.

Where will you be watching the games?

Our local pub is going to do breakfast for the England and Ireland games so I hope I'll be watching them there, otherwise I'll be watching the games at home. Either way it will be with my son who is also an englandfans member.
